Piyush Seth of First Medical Services - Keeping All the Balls in the Air

Piyush Seth of First Medical Services understands what it means to keep all the balls in the air. As a husband with two daughters and a businessman working in the medical sector in India, this entrepreneur certainly has many things to think about. But being able to juggle many balls is one of the things that separates the successful from the rest of us.

In business, as well as in life, there is always a lot to think about at any one time; there is what your clients may be thinking, or worse the plans your competitors are scheming about. To have success in business you need to be able to focus, prioritize, and most of all keep your cool.

This is one of the reasons that many of us have respect for business people who take on big startup projects; there is also just so much going on with so much to lose! It is something we should all have some admiration for, as many of us would simply not be able to keep it together.

But for businessmen like Piyush Seth First Medical Services, this is part of the excitement; it means long hours, a lot of stress, but in the end it is worth it. After all, the chance was there to stay in a stable, well-paying job with lots of opportunity, so why leave if it wasn’t for the fact there is a little bit of juggler in him?

Piyush Seth of First Medical Services - Engineering to Entrepreneurialism

Piyush Seth of First Medical Services is one of many entrepreneurs that are contributing to the startup boom that the medical industry is experiencing. With Fortune reporting that “$6.5 billion was invested in new healthcare ventures, a 125% increase over 2013,” it is certainly a “revolution” that is making itself felt. But it is driven by many different skills, with many doctors taking the plunge to go into business, with other skill sets like engineers joining the fray.

For Piyush Seth this looks like a natural transition; with a graduate education in engineering, the future businessman then went on to land responsible roles with Philips, GE Healthcare, and Siemens. This gave him a lot of technical training, but also many of the business skills that he would later go on to use in his own ventures. As he says, the “entrepreneurial bug caught me early in life,” and that he “quit a very stable career with Siemens to open a Diagnostic Center, Kanpur Scans Pvt Ltd in 1995."

It is a decision that many are faced with, making that jump to move into starting your own business when you have a reliable career. But it is those that take the risk, are willing to work hard, that not only will reap the rewards, but also are changing the face of medicine as we know it. Which is why people like Piyush Seth of First Medical Services are changing business as well as the medical care that we receive, and we are all the better for it.
